Kara

Gabe and I had been happily married for seven years. We’d had our ups and downs, but nothing could have prepared us for what happened after a weekend getaway, and a fun tour of one of the oldest cemeteries in Charleston.
Something or someone came home with us, and once our mysterious ghost revealed himself, things really got interesting. The heart is definitely big enough for two. Who knew curses could be real?

Gabe

All I’ve ever wanted was to make my wife happy. We’d had a good seven years together, and I knew we had what it took to make it the long haul.
When Kara told me our house was haunted, I thought for sure there was a reasonable explanation. Man, was I wrong. Who knew curses could be real?

William

My parent’s and society’s expectations were weighing heavily, and I felt leaving was for the best. Only things had not worked out like I hoped. I found out rather quickly how short life could be.
When I saw Kara standing at my grave, the connection had been instantaneous, but I had no idea how real that connection actually was. Who knew curses could be real?

My name is Morgana Drake, I write a blog. You may have heard of it, The Payne in the Blog (same as the title of this book, clever huh!). No, oh well, you will trust me! I may just be Mr. Henrik Payne’s assistant now, but soon I will be running the company.

How do I know? I can feel it in my bones. There is only one problem, my boss. They don’t just call him the Payne for nothing. He’s a jerk and I hate him! Then why do I keep fantasizing about him? Seriously, I think I need help.

Anyway, maybe if you read this you can offer some advice to help me with my dilemma. This little novella is a compilation of my blog posts to date. I am continuing to write posts, so check out my blog to find out what is happening now

Also, the whole reason the author, Elizabeth Lynx, is making this novella is because she is writing my story. It will be called Rules of Payne: (Wanted her to call it Rules of Drake, but she wouldn't budge. Author’s huh!). That’s right, I’m sort of important. It’s just a matter of time until everyone knows who I am!

Dating a werewolf can get a little hairy, literally and metaphorically. Rayne Manchester's suitors learn this pretty quickly. Rayne and her siblings, Rhyme and River, have been through a lot lately, and the loss of their father was only more fuel for the firestorm that is their lives.

Grief offers a subtle salve to the drama that eats up their existence and leaves them spinning like a tornado, but when their uncle reads their father's last will and testament they discover things are only going to get worse. The will divides the massive estate equally, but there is one catch; all three must be mated and married one year from their father's death. If even one of them fails in this mandate, none of them will inherit! Estranged, the siblings will now be forced to help each other.

Rayne's Thunder is Rayne Manchester's journey toward finding a mate and walking down the aisle. Upcoming, Rhyme's Reason and River's Fire are River and Rhyme's stories to happily ever after.

In Rayne's Thunder, Part One: Master Chef of the Dating a Werewolf Series, Rayne meets her first suitor, Brick. Their date goes well until payback is delivered for the disrespect the two made to the new alpha. Immerse yourself in this series, the characters, and their world. They're waiting for you to join them on their adventure.

Each installment will serve up romance, suspense, intrigue, and action.

Message from Rayne:

My father's death rattled me to the core. A part of me died with him and left my world spinning out of control. I needed the sanity, the comfort home and my pack offered. Returning home was the only option. Father was always overbearing, determined, protective. He felt he knew what was best for all of us, even if it wasn't.

But this time he really overstepped, I mean to tell me who and when I need to marry and mate from beyond the grave is just inexcusable and to make it worse, he wasn't here for me to tell him how furious I was with him.

There's only one saving grace... at least he left me with a decent list. I'm looking forward to my first date with Brick Mason. I hear he's a mater chef and comes from a respectable alpha family in Wyoming. I suppose we'll see. Whatever happens finding true love is going to be an adventure. I hope you'll join me on my journey to my happily ever after.

Rayne's Thunder is Rayne Manchester's journey toward finding a mate and walking down the aisle. Upcoming, Rhyme's Reason and River's Fire are River and Rhyme's stories to happily ever after.

In Rayne's Thunder, Part Two: The Veterinarian of the Dating a Werewolf Series, Rayne returns home from college to find her mate. River has chosen her second suitor, Lincoln, a veterinarian from a neighboring pack. Disaster strikes when Chloe (Rayne’s best friend) is kidnapped. Watching a person deal with pressure can reveal a lot. Will these two find love together or will their spark fizzle out before it even begins?

Immerse yourself in this series, the characters, and their world. They're waiting for you to join them on their adventure.

This series can be read out of order, but is far more enjoyable in order. Each installment will serve up romance, suspense, intrigue, and action.

Rayne Manchester’s adventures in dating continue as she meets her newest suitor, Senator Archibald Bachiemer, and he makes one heck of a first impression but is it enough to grab Rayne’s attention or is he better suited for another wolf at the compound? Will wolves from her past come back into the running for her hand?

The lives of the Manchester siblings have been in turmoil since the day their father’s will has been read. All three of them must be married and mated in one year or they will lose their massive inheritance. Rayne has taken to the dating scene like a fish out of water, Rhyme believes she has the right man, and River is so busy with pack politics, taking the Colorado Alpha seat, making a peace treaty with the local witches’ coven and defeating the rogue pack that has designs of overthrowing River and owning Colorado.

This is the third installment on Rayne’s journey to true love. At the end of this adventure she will find her mate and happy ending but the world around her may go up in flames and those she loves will be changed forever.

Homicide Detective Charity Holiday comes across some interesting characters when she works on a murder case of a stripper. One of those characters happens to be her mate. Working together with her dragon mate and his shifter community they uncover a conspiracy of mythological proportions.

Malick Pendragon isn’t thrilled when his mate, who happens to be a witch, walks into his life. The timing is completely wrong. He lets her walk out of the roadhouse deciding to pursue her at a later date. What he doesn’t expect is her life to be threatened or that he’d have to save her or risk dying himself.

Dragon's Succubus

Introduction

Being a princess is a pretty amazing job, that is, unless you’re a princess of the Underworld. Alleyah “Lee” Jenkins is the daughter of Hades and a human woman, Joanna. Her birth left her an orphan in the human realm. When she hit adolescence, she came into her succubus powers and learned the truth of her birthright. She was destined to marry a demon prince and together they would rule the thirteenth level of the underworld. She had different plans.

For the next twelve years she hunted and dispatched demons to the underworld, honoring the memory of her human mother and clearly stating her opposition to taking her throne in the underworld. When she meets a bounty hunter named Connor MacGregor, her world is turned upside down. He is tasked with the duty of bringing her to justice for a crime she didn’t commit. His family honor, and the lives of his siblings, depend on him accomplishing his goal. He didn’t, however, expect to discover she was his mate!

Chapter One

The heavy beat of the techno music playing over the speakers of the rundown nightclub, Jericho, was a jarring and somewhat strangely comfortable lullaby for Alleyah Jenkins. Two years ago this place was the hottest destination in town for a Friday and Saturday night, but now, they were lucky if a couple hundred patrons came the entire weekend. Lee didn’t mind the lull in customers or the cut in tips. It made both of her jobs easier. As the bartender, she rarely had customers waiting and fewer patrons meant she could focus on her real calling, and tonight she had a new target in mind.
She’d spent the better part of the last two hours flirting with a reptile, and she was about to close the deal. All she needed was her back up bartender, Alex, to show up. She passed the blond haired, green eyed man a beer and this time held her hand on his for ten extra seconds. Then, she winked and gave him her best smile before she leaned over and whispered, “You want to accompany me on my break out back?” She made sure her abundant chest was positioned perfectly over the bar so he could see the goods.
The smile he gave back meant he got the message loud and clear. He was more than willing to join her in the alley for a little bump and grind. The pieces were falling into place nicely and she was happy knowing that her diversion would keep the bastard from finding another woman to torment tonight. If all went well, the last intimate moment the man had on this earth was going to be with her.
As if on cue, the back-up bartender, Charlie Harrington, entered the nightclub. She was wearing tight black jeans and an even tighter white t-shirt which meant she was looking for good tips tonight. It was odd she was here, it meant Alex was taking the night off, which he never did on a weekend night. He had to be lying on his death bed to not be here. Lee made a mental note to check on him after her shift was over.
Charlie, the redheaded female bartender, didn’t make it behind the bar before Lee jumped out to meet her. She gave the girl an affectionate smile and tossed her apron to her partner for the night. “I’m taking a break.” She smiled as she glanced over to her shag partner who stood up and followed her sashaying hips out the back door.
The good thing about being a succubus was she was rarely turned down by men or women. It made her the perfect hunter. Her curvy body, blonde curls, and violet eyes helped too, but it was hard to resist pheromones like hers. She could be unattractive and still be alluring to her prey.
She waited for her mark to make it across the alley while she sipped her bottleneck beer silently. The grin on the man’s face was priceless. Demons were always so cocky. This one was no different. He placed both hands on either side of her head and moved within inches of her face, trapping her to the wall…or so he thought.
He was focused on possessing her and she was focused on her mental checklist. Sulfuric smell, yep. Check. Yellow tinge to eyes, check. He brushed her blonde hair back away from her eyes, and she took note that the upper half of his ring finger had been chopped off. Body disfigurement. Minor, but check.
“I’m Reed, what’s your name?” His voice was silky smooth, almost hypnotic.
Compulsion powers, check. Social skills and desire to make a connection, uncheck. Okay, not good. Everything about this man screamed demon so why was he not lining up with her checklist?  “No names,” Lee told him as she crushed her lips to his. Bastard! She never killed a mark unless she was able to verify, without a doubt, it was a demon. Now she had to actually make out with the arrogant ass to make sure he was who he seemed to be. Thankfully, he was a good kisser and responded to her lips instantly.
She excreted a little extra pheromones into her saliva as she slid her tongue along his lower lip. He opened wide to deepen the kiss. His fingers slid down her body and ignited her inner demon, her succubus side came alive when his hands slipped under her t-shirt and glided upward to cup her breast. Lee wrapped her leg around his hip and pressed her urgent, needy body up against his groin. His desire for her evident in the hardness trying to push itself out from behind his zipper. He moved both hands up above her head and dipped his mouth to her neck. A moan escaped her lips and then she heard the click and felt the cold metal against her wrists.
“What the hell?” Her violet eyes shot daggers as he brought her hand down and she saw the cuff connecting her wrist to his. “I’m not into kinky stuff without discussing it first.” She had a feeling he wasn’t into bondage either. The clear look in his eyes told her he wasn’t under her spell. She’d never met someone who was unaffected by her hormones. Demons, humans, supernaturals, they all succumbed to the pheromones her body emitted. Why didn’t he?
“You and I are going to take a ride, Alleyah.” The glazed-over look of sexual desire was gone, replaced by stone-cold resolve.
“I don’t ride in cars with strangers.” She spun around and kicked the back of his knee, the force of the blow causing him to lose his footing and crumble to the ground. He pulled her with him. She really should’ve thought that move through. She managed to chastise herself before her knees hit the dirty, damp ground. The coppery smell of blood rose on the air and she watched as Reed’s green eyes turned red with hunger. He wasn’t a demon, he was something else, something worse. He was something that fed on blood.
Demons fed on the souls they collected. The souls they harvested agreed to be victims in exchange for something they wanted. Lee felt sorry for the lost souls that demons consumed, but those souls chose to be the demon’s food. Blood feeders were different. They stalked their prey and took what wasn’t offered to them. They were the bottom feeders of the supernatural races and she despised them, but she didn’t hunt them. She left that job to the human hunters. Her motivation behind killing demons was more of a family affair.
Lee threw a punch toward Reed’s jaw and heard the familiar crack. He turned and gave her a grin as though she hadn’t even touched him. “By now I’m sure you know I’m not as easy to kill as your weak-ass demons. Why don’t you be a good girl and come with me willingly?”
“Like hell!” She kicked him in the face, punched him in the gut, but it wasn’t until she took aim at his groin that he grabbed her foot, twisted, and slammed her down to the ground.
“Sorry, sweetheart. I like that part of my anatomy too much to allow you to inflict damage.” There was humor in his voice. He actually looked like he was enjoying her attempts at fighting for her life. Jerk!
“Really? It seemed rather small to me, almost too tiny to care about.”
A deep laugh rumbled from his diaphragm. “I’m not adverse to taking it out and demonstrating its power.”
“Animal.”
“Yes, I am.” He tugged her up and pulled her against him. His breath hot on her skin. “Which is a step up on the evolutionary ladder over you, succubus.” His lips closed the gap and claimed hers, and the tiniest inkling of hope sparked inside her soul. He was attracted to her or her pheromones were kicking in. Either way, she had some leverage that she could use to escape capture. Now she just needed to figure out who wanted her and why.
His tongue swirled in her mouth and she reciprocated, both of them feeling a hunger build inside them. “Now, I’m sorry for this.” He zapped her with an electrical current to the brain which fried her mind and made her pass out.

Dragon's Dream Dancer

Introduction

Kensi McKenna is looking for a way to escape the dangerous and deadly future she is fated to live so she turns to exotic dancing as a way to obtain the financial support needed to break away from the small Oregon town. The night of her first dance, Tremaine MacGregor storms into the club and kidnaps her. Her first instinct is to escape, her second is to help the man and betray her family. No matter what she chooses her life will never be the same again.

Trey MacGregor is after an easy bounty. It seems like a piece-of-cake job so he goes it alone and leaves his family out of it. The moment he walks into the club where Mariah McKenna is supposed to work his life is turned upside down and becomes far more complicated. What he doesn’t know is the girl he steals away, his treasured mate, is his target’s sister. Theirs is a match gifted from the gods, but can they get past the obvious family problems?

Chapter One

Kensi ran shaky hands through her coppery red curls as she pushed down the bile rising in her throat from the fear wracking her mind and body in rolling waves. Her reflection in the mirror seemed like a stranger to her. The fake eyelashes surrounding her sky blue orbs, a thick layer of makeup hiding her freckles and flaws, and sparkling body paint - the only thing covering her nakedness, all seemed alien to her. This was the only way she could go through with her plan. She told herself the world wouldn’t see her, they’d see a fantasy image of a girl that didn’t exist instead of Kensi McKenna, struggling college student needing to escape a future that held nothing but pain and suffering.
She slipped on the red sequined dress and knee high stiletto boots over black fishnet stocking-clad shapely calves leading up to slender thighs. She wasn’t extremely skinny, but she had the athletic body of a dancer with one minor exception, the larger than average chest size. It messed with her center of gravity, but she adapted nicely. Next she fiddled with the position of the long black wig hiding her signature red hair. The wig strategically hung past her breasts which would be the only cover she had from onlookers as she danced tonight. The new image of an unrecognizable person that reflected upon the silver glass surface of the full length mirror smiled wickedly as her costumed appearance fell into place.
A small level of satisfaction over the success of her new image began to make her feel easier, and more certain no one would recognize her, even her brother and sister would find it difficult spotting her in a crowd. Doubt crept in again. She wasn’t going to be hidden amongst people. Her body was going to be on display for all the world to ogle. The thought made her sick and almost sent her running from the club. She forced down the rising bile which caused a burning sensation in her chest and the back of her throat. Taking a deep breathe she told herself, ‘I can do this!’ It was becoming her mantra;.a simple chant she said over and over again to force positive beliefs into her psyche. I have to do this. She had bills to pay. If she was going to escape the terrifying fate in store for her here she needed the funds to afford her tuition and to pay for transportation out of this tiny Oregon town. Dancing at the Bayside Beauties was the only way she was going to get out, and she needed to run far, far away from this place. There was no way in hell she was going to become an assassin as her family insisted. She’d die first.
“You’re up in five, Kensi.” Jacklyn, the nightclub manager, snapped from the doorway.
Kensi turned to Jacklyn, forcing down another bout of stage fright in the form of nausea. Jacklyn was not necessarily the nicest woman for which to work. Kensi guessed it was because she was in her mid-forties, and age was stealing away her youth and beauty. This was compounded by the fact that she was surrounded by all the pretty young girls she employed as dancers at the club. If rumor was true, Jacklyn was one of the best dancers this club ever had. But her days of glory were over. Wrinkles on her skin from living a hard life made her look matronly, but took away her vibrancy. Her body was still in great shape, a sign of a true dancer, but keeping up with the younger women was difficult. It was the cold, hard truth of reality, and figuring out her motivations was basic Psychology 101. “Thank you, Jacklyn.”
The pretty, older woman offered a tight nod and turned to leave. Instead of walking away, she stopped as though she had an afterthought. Jacklyn took three long strides toward Kensi. The jasmine scent of her strong perfume made Kensi’s stomach roll again, but she swallowed hard past the lump. Jacklyn’s fingers flipped the black wig tresses behind Kensi’s shoulders and straightened her dress sleeve in a motherly manner. “Remember, you’re Siren’s Song out there, not Kensi. Siren is a strong, proud woman who eats men for dinner. Don’t show your fear, they’ll see it and it’ll ruin the illusion.”
Kensi appreciated the encouragement and nodded, “I’m playing a character.” Her smile spread across her lips as she slipped into the character of Siren’s Song. Her mantra playing over and over again like a broken record in her mind.
“That’s right. You’ll do wonderfully.” Jacklyn walked away. Shouting from halfway down the hall, she said, “three minutes” over her shoulder as she retreated.
Kensi took one last look in the mirror and took a deep breath. It’s now or never. Each time she repeated her affirmation strength flowed into her body. She could, and would, do this. She had to earn the money for college and leave this town, and she had two months to do it otherwise she’d be stuck here forever.
Her feet started walking to the side stage. She couldn’t remember giving them the command, but she made it to the stage just as her music intro started and Jacklyn spoke into the microphone. “Please welcome Siren Song to the stage for her debut dance.”
The crowd cheered her entrance and fueled her strength. ‘I can do this.’
Her body started moving to the music on instinct more than conscious thought. She was dancing, performing, and playing a character. The lights blinded her to the crowd’s faces. The music carried her, her character taking over, her fear melting away as her imagination took her away from her reality. She was aware of the stage, but the audience didn’t exist anymore. Her leg wrapped around the pole, and her body contorted in the ways her choreography called for. Sounds from the crowd told her they were soaking up her smiles and every sexual movement she made. When the dress fell from her shoulders revealing her naked body covered with intricate body paint that glowed under the black light the money fell like crazy on the stage. Men lined up to place dollars in her G-string panties that matched the body paint perfectly and gave the illusion of complete nudity. She was no longer Kensi, she’d effectively morphed into Siren’s Song and she was eating the men for dinner.

*****

Tremaine MacGregor entered the club looking for the spunky brunette dream weaver known as Mariah McKenna. The oracle told him the woman worked at this club. It would be an easy bounty, so easy he decided to take the challenge on his own. His family members had other things on their plate, especially Connor and Lee who were on their honeymoon. Besides, the oracle singled him out with the additional helpful information so he had a head start on the other hunters.
It helped that he understood dream weavers. They weren’t known to be tough in this world. It was in the sleep realm where they possessed their power, not the waking one. He’d capture her and rush her to the portal that would allow him to deliver her to the Tribunal. He’d face their anger at not following instructions at the time of delivery. He wasn’t a killer, he was a hunter, and he wasn’t going to take her life just because the order was for her head.
As a dragon shifter, he was uniquely suited to hunt this predator. He didn’t need to sleep as much as many of the other races so staying awake while delivering the package would be easy. It was the kill order that made him wary of the whole thing. It wasn’t like the Tribunal to order hits. They were about justice and giving people their time in court.
He wasn’t disputing how dangerous she was. Mariah’s race was the worst of the worst in the assassin world. They killed victims without remorse or discrimination. But there was a need for them in the supernatural world, and had she kept her business in the paranormal and not in the human realm, the Tribunal would’ve never put a bounty on her head. But when she was named responsible for one unsanctioned human death she became public enemy number one in the Tribunal’s mind.
His eyes barely noticed the girl dancing on the stage or the topless waitresses flitting around the bar room insuring the men, and women patrons were heavily numbed by alcoholic beverages. He was only focused on finding his killer. The smoking atmosphere filled his lungs and left his stomach queasy. As a dragon he had his own fire and smoke in his body, and it was void of unhealthy chemicals. The music held an exotic beat which called to his inner beast. He glanced around with curiosity at the lost souls mesmerized by the show on the stage. It was like he’d entered an alternate dimension, and he wondered if the performer on the stage or the musician who created the song was a witch or siren of some sort.
When the crowd roared its appreciation, his attention was drawn back to the stage. His eyes locked with the woman dancing and he felt as though he’d been run over by a two ton truck. His heart raced, the world spun out of control, and time stood still. In that instant, he knew she was his mate. His dragon clawed under the surface of his skin, talons aching to reach out and snatch her from the eyes of the patrons staring at her almost nude body. She was magic on the stage and she had the patrons eating out of her hands. Money was falling on the stage floor, but when a portly man reached up to place the cash in the girl’s G-string, he lost it. The only hands he wanted to see near her naked body were his.
He rushed toward the stage, his bounty forgotten. Primal instinct taking over, the need to cover her up his only focus. A bouncer twice his human size stepped in front of him, blocking him from his destination. His fist shot out and cracked against the bouncer’s face with enough surprise force that the man fell backwards, and Trey jumped up on the stage. His need to cover his mate unbelievably strong.
Kensi didn’t catch the commotion until she came face to face with a man of gigantic proportions, long dark hair tied back loosely in a leather band and piercing sapphire eyes. Her heart stuttered as she stumbled backwards and felt her foot give out. She experienced a moment of freefall before she felt strong arms wrap around her waist and pull her against his hard body. When she was upright, she found her lips inches from his own and fought off the urge to crush her lips to his.
Everywhere he touched was on fire with sparks of passion, but her mind was raging with anger at his behavior. The two emotions blended well together like her morning smoothie and created a reaction in her body. The need to flee was overpowering the desire to fight and her mind sent commands to her extremities, but logic tried to intervene, pointing out she wasn’t strong enough, or fast enough to evade this man.
She looked around frantically searching for the bouncers. One was knocked out in front of the stage and two more were heading her way. The music stopped, and everyone around them seemed to be moving in slow motion. Screams broke out as people started realizing what was happening around them.
Trey wrapped his enormous leather jacket around Kensi’s shoulders, which engulfed her. Then he pulled her toward the edge of the stage. She fought back in an attempt to escape, but his grip was firm and unyielding.
“Let go of me!” She hissed.
“Never!” He snapped as he pulled her off the stage with one quick movement and tossed her over his shoulder. Another bouncer approached him, but he used the force of his bicep to drop the assailant and spun around aiming Kensi’s booted feet at the second bouncer’s head, smiling with satisfaction when he heard the crunch of a boot hitting a solid jaw. Knowing these men were watching her dance moments before only made the action more gratifying.
The woman on his shoulder fought against him. She wasn’t a shifter, but she was a supernatural. Did she not recognize him as her mate? He could feel the strength in her thighs as she squirmed to get free from his grip. Her movements only served to drive his desire to higher levels. He felt the pressure of his erection push against the zipper of his pants. Being this close to her was excruciatingly painful, in a good way. He just couldn’t understand why she hadn’t recognized their connection.
He knew it the moment his eyes locked on hers – he knew from the insanity and rage he felt from all the men that watched her painted body wiggle to the music in her seductive way. Gods, please don’t let my mate be a succubus, he thought as he headed toward the neon exit sign. Her actions left him no option but to steal her away from the crowd. Connor had told him meeting his mate would be like a punch to the gut. The bastard wasn’t kidding.
He’d have to wait until she felt the connection too, and he wasn’t going to let his furious vixen leave until she did. The fear that she’d run was too great at this point. He could feel the anger vibrating off her in waves. Logic was starting to settle in over the insanity that took over. He knew he’d acted rashly, and she wasn’t going to easily forgive him for his actions. It would take some cooling off.
He placed her in the black SUV rental and spoke some words over the door seal, locking her in. Sometimes having minor magic came in handy. He’d let her begin that cooling stage while he went back in to find his target. “When you calm down you’ll better understand what is going on,” he told her through the sealed door. “I’ll be back shortly.” And with that he turned and headed back into the strip club.

That's a wrap folks! Lessons I learned from writing in a Serial Killer's POV

Remote Paranoia (PBI Case Files 5) is wrapped and sent to the marvelous editor, Michele Gwynn. If you've read the Paranormal Bureau of Investigation Files series I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised with some of the changes I did to this episode. Many of the things I learned from a Master Class I took on line.

This episode shows the murder scenes from the perspective of the victim and the aftermath scenes from the killer's Point of View as well as the investigation from the heroes' perspectives. Frankie, Karma, Devon, Tucker and Persephone DeLuca all take the reigns and give readers some insight into their line of thinking and even delicious tidbits of their pasts.

I'm known for creating romantic suspense as well as action, drama, and adding in mythological components to help create twists that will spin your mind, but there is also a stronger component of intrigue in this episode.

Frankie and Fang's relationship deepens. Tucker becomes a solid support character, DeLuca still has some work to gang trust from the inner circle but I have faith she'll eventually get there. Karma visits her uncle, grandmother, and cousin and enlists help from Hypnos despite the mandate sent down from Zeus that meddling in human affairs is forbidden. Readers learn a little more about the origin of the Ancient Greek Gods which adds a science fiction component to the urban fantasy world.

With only three more episodes to season one of season one Sarah's motivation behind her leaving starts to become clear and the first glimpse of the season finale showdown with the Amazon becomes clear.

I'm super pleased with how the manuscript turned out and am looking forward to publication. It's available for a steal in the Wicked After Dark box set available for pre-order now for only $0.99.

So what did I learn from writing in the point of view (pov) of the serial killer? I seriously had to take a shower afterwards. Getting into the mind and motivation of why the killer did what he did was very difficult and a hundred miles out of my comfort zone but I also think the pain I went through making the connection to the character actually enhanced the story greatly.

In the previous episodes, the focus was more on the path the investigators took not necessarily giving readers a peek into the psyche of the criminal.

Another thing I discovered during the read through was I really enjoyed the good moments between characters immensely more than I did before I added the dark POV. I suppose this was the idea that you appreciate the good more when you realize the bad.

I also found this was quite a learning experience and research became my best friend. Seriously, a lot of reading and watching television shows from the perspective of the killer helped in creating these characters.

I'm excited to hear what you think after reading the episode about this new layer I've added to my writing process in the mysteries. Feel free to email me at spiritandmindconnection@live.com once you've read the story with your thoughts. I look forward to hearing from you.

The family of Night gets a visit from Karma in PBI Case Files

Being a student of Greek Mythology and knowing that many of my stories contain the Greek Gods and often lists their origins as alien and many more of my stories contain dream weavers, minor gods/goddess with the ability to manipulate dreams it was only a matter of time that I brought in Morpheus and his family to one of my stories and the new release coming out in the Wicked After Dark Box Set, Remote Paranoia (PBI Case Files #5) is the one I chose to bring this ancient god family into.

Initially I had intended to bring in only the god of dreams, Morpheus but as the story grew Nyx, goddess of the night who is also his grandmother and Hypnos, god of sleep who is also his father made an appearance.

Morpheus' brothers Phobetor (god of nightmares), Phantasus (god of fake and illusional dreams), and Ikelos (god of realistic dreams) are in the current draft but could be cut depending on edits and story flow. As my fans know, I like to keep the pages turning so sometimes if it doesn't enhance the story and move it along it makes the cutting room floor.

Karma (demi goddess, daughter of Atropos - one of the Moirai also known as the fates) is the granddaughter of Nyx and in one of the scenes when Karma visits the House of Dreams to talk to her cousin Morpheus, her extended family is there. She is put into an uncomfortable position since the purpose of her visit is to interrogate Morpheus about the string of murders her PBI team is investigating. It was going to be hard enough questioning her cousin, someone she liked and respected about the crimes but including the god of sleep and night ~ someone who makes Zeus nervous, makes things far more complicated.

Check out more sneak peek twists and characters coming up in Remote Paranoia (PBI Case Files #5) here.

While we're on the topic of Greek Mythology, who is your favorite god or goddess to read about in fiction? Why? Is there a god or goddess you'd like to read about in a work of fiction? I have had many different god/goddess appearances in my books. They always add a lot of chaos and fun to the story and can't help but meddle in the human/supernatural affairs. Let me know if the comment section below.

Have you check out PBI Case Files? Here's more on the series from my website and you can also view the series on Amazon here.

Taking components of reality and twisting them into Urban Fantasy

I like to mix paranormal/supernatural elements with reality when I create a book. Most of my books fall under the sub genre Urban Fantasy for this reason. I get really stoked when I can take something that has been studied and researched and mix it into my fantasy fiction cocktail to design a new story. My next release does just that, as do many of the case files in the PBI (Paranormal Bureau of Investigation series). Just take a look below to get a peek of what to expect in this new release coming out soon.

Astral Projection, according to Wikipedia is the idea that the soul can leave the human body and travel on the astral plane. It's considered an Out of Body Experience (OBE). Essentially, the person astral projecting is able to leave the physical body and travel to places in the astral body.

Astral Projection has been mentioned in many religions across the world. The science behind the idea is still untapped but there have been multiple studies that have tried to measure the soul, or take pictures of the soul upon death which has resulted in interesting results. It's not astral projection but the but it's an area that has scientific research and is loosely related to astral projection in the idea that the astral body is travelling away from the physical.

Some believe when you Astral Project you must remain tethered to the physical body, others have said that to leave your physical body without the astral walking body leaves your human shell open to invasion from evil spirits.

As one who studies paranormal and supernatural concepts, ideas, and things I've tried astral projection. I must admit, it was a frightening and exhilarating experience all rolled into one. Its not something I'd recommend to others to try because my experience was scary. It felt as though I was being jerked out of my body. My conscious mind was not ready to allow myself to move to that astral plane and until I've studied the process and done far more research I won't be trying that again. However, I've heard from others how amazing it can be.

Remote Viewing, according to Wikipedia is the "practice of seeking impressions about a distant or unseen target using subjective means, extrasensory perception or sensing with the mind". This topic has fascinated me for many years. Combining Astral Projection with Remote Viewing to create super heroes or super soldiers was something I knew I'd always use in my writing and in the upcoming PBI Case Files Adventure titled Remote Paranoia these types of characters make their first appearance in my books. Prior to this upcoming new release I used supernatural characters like Dream Weavers as primary otherworldly beings that could do things similar to what the new remote viewing astral projection characters can do in this new story.

Dream Weavers in the series that I write are supernatural beings that have super powers in the dream world and they often work for the Greek Dream Gods. Many times they are assassins or they are part of an assassin family. Morpheus is the principal god of the dream weavers. Sometimes Hypnos (God of sleep) and Thanatos (death) get mixed up with these characters as well.

In the new Paranormal Bureau of Investigation Adventure you'll meet these new characters to this book series. The Remote Viewers who use Astral Projection are human psychics which makes them uniquely different from Dream Weavers who control the dream realm with powers like astral projection.

In my research I discovered as late as the 1990s governments were reportedly studying remote viewing and possible use of this psychic ability in military capacity. In 1995 the studies were terminated after being transferred from the DIA to the CIA for further testing according to Wikipedia and the research offered no usable intelligence.

This is why I love writing paranormal fiction because this topic can add hours of enjoyable reading material. Remote Paranoia (PBI Case Files #5) will delve deeper into these ideas and have characters that use these abilities... I won't tell you how, you'll have to read the book but imagine combining someone who can astral project and remote view with someone who can make others bend to their will. Ah, the possibilities.
