Rayne's Thunder Date Night and Giveaway

One of the best things about writing romance is that you can create amazing romantically infused interactions between the characters. The build up to me is far more important than the actual act of getting together. I love those sultry looks, the build up of desire, the need to touch, the electricity that comes from contact, the 'does he or doesn't he like me' anticipation. It's one of the reasons why I started writing the Dating a Werewolf Series with the romantic serials of Rayne's Thunder, Rhyme's Reason, and River's Fire. I mean ten guys, or girls in River's case, all vying for the attention of a potential mate and pulling out all the stops to win the object of their affection is intoxicating. It's the chase.

The challenge, though in taking on a series like this, is coming up with variety. There is only one picnic in the park or a date that ends with the couple dancing in the rain. Readers don't want to read the same experience with different people it suspends the escape the writer has created for reader and takes away from the overall experience. It's why the kisses must be different from one guy to the next or the touches and scents need to have different stimulating impact on characters.

So in the next installment in Rayne's Thunder (Part Four) The Mating Game six men are required to create six different dating experiences. I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised with some of the interactions and delighted with the ideas the men came up with but I can already see I'm going to need new ideas for future installments so here is the question.

What would be your dream date? Leave it in the comments below. I'll giveaway an audiobook from one of my already published titles here to one lucky poster (winner's choice). Winner must be over 18. I'll choose one winner for the comments below 8/30/15

Check out this highly rated serial on Amazon.

  1. Dream date? Honestly, at this point, I'll take any kind of night out with my husband WITHOUT the kids, lol. I'm easy. Dinner and a movie and I'm all set. We've gone to the strippers a few times, but they kind of suck here. I told him when we go to Texas next year for my grandma's 80th birthday, I want to stop by and eat at the place that has shirtless male waiters, lol.

  5. A simple dinner at a quiet cafe. Then go to a play or live show. Come home, get naked, fool around then have a snack of cheese and a screwdriver it two.

  6. A good date for me would be a picnic lunch, next to a soothing stream to relax and enjoy the time together after a nice trail ride on horse back to get there. No interruptions from society and just being there with my date.

  10. My dream date would be one where I am completely comfortable: with my date, the location, my clothes, etc. It would definitely be some place casual.

  14. Let me tell you about one of the most romantic dates I ever "went on." Yes there is a reason for the quotes. You see I never really went anywhere physically. Many years ago I played a MMORPG called Acheron's call. The game was highly social and at the time I needed the outlet. While playing the game I hooked up with a guy that was traveling internationally on a regular basis and the game was his form of R&R while he sat in his hotel room wherever he happened to be. As we got to know each other he started taking me on outings... sometimes it was to teach me how to level up and sometimes it was to complete a quest, but he was always protective and solicitous of my needs and my wishes. However the absolute best outing was when he helped me level up with the express purpose of unlocking an area of the game just so he could show me the waterfalls. The whole outing revolved around the romance of a date. There was no experience to be gained or quest to accomplish it was solely for the purpose of pleasing me with the wonder of the games graphics and sharing time together. You have to understand also that sometimes these outings took hours of time.

So while this may seem a little out there for a romance premise I think about the reasons why a character might choose to meet and get to know each other in this manner. Does one travel all of the time? Is one homebound? Perhaps one of them has some disability or perceived deformity that makes them shy of meeting in person. There are so many possibilities and reasons for them to come together eventually.

I like ideas that are out of the normal with a few twists here and there when I'm reading a romance. So my mind goes to the possibilities something of this nature lends to the possibilities of a unique storyline.
